Courmayeur, “Dolce Vita” under Mont Blanc

Italy is not just Rome, Milan, Venice and Florence, the tourist destinations par excellence: in winter, Courmayeur, on the Italian side of Mont Blanc, is paradise for skiers, climbers and dolce vita enthusiasts. An unrivaled alpine landscape and a warm Italian welcome.

Italy is well-known all over the world for its cultural treasures, its old towns, its fashion design, and its extraordinarily varied landscapes. In winter, in one of the top ten tourist attractions in Italy, a vacation under Mont Blanc cannot be missed. The Roof of Europe, in fact, is also Italian: on the Italian side of the mountain lies Courmayeur, the famous winter resort. The cradle of mountaineering, a romantic village nestled in the Alps, a glamorous destination: there’s always something to enjoy in this fascinating resort.

The most exceptional character of Courmayeur is its unique location: positioned among Italy, France and Switzerland, it represents the essence of the Italian Way of life. On the Italian side of Mont Blanc you can find the sense of style which is so typically Italian. Courmayeur is a perfect synthesis of different cultures. Courmayeur is a paradise for skiers: the location offers a magnificent view of the Mont Blanc range and a great variety of perfectly powdered slopes. And, at the end of every day, the fun never stops, thanks to the après-ski: the gondola is open until midnight for those who wish to stay on the mountain in the bars and restaurants at high altitude to enjoy an aperitif or a dinner with shows, dj sets and live concerts.

Courmayeur is particularly renowned for freeride, with its stunning scenery of 40 miles of fabulous slopes, lovely blankets of powder, and an incomparable landscape. The ski area gives access to wonderful, world-famous descents, and the area around Mont Blanc offers a series of beautiful off-piste runs, such as the incredibly scenic Vallée Blanche, between Italy and France, and Toula, on the Italian side.

Lastly, Courmayeur, embodies the essence of elegance, which is perfectly represented by its “boutiques”. This town perpetuates an age-old tradition of warm welcome, and at the same time knows every little secret of a refined lifestyle. Here you can find the most prestigious brands and the most trendy bars and restaurants, and, actually, we can even speak of a “Courmayeur way of life”. A stroll in the historic via Roma means plunging into the glamourous style of the shops offering clothing, handcrafts, jewelry and design, as well as the gastronomic delicacies and wines typically produced in Aosta Valley.
