Trip Preparation
If you have a medical condition, arrange for a check-up before traveling. Ask your doctor for a letter documenting your condition and treatment.
Keep prescription medications in their pharmacy containers and carry them in your hand-carried bags. Make a copy of the prescriptions to keep with your other valuable papers. Don’t forget to take a spare pair of eyeglasses or contact lenses, and, have a copy of your lens prescription on hand.
If you have a disability that requires special attention or flight arrangements, please make note of it on your registration form. Special dietary needs should be noted there as well.
Before You Leave Home
- Have your newspapers and mail picked up.
- Ask neighbors to keep an eye on your home.
- Install an inexpensive timer to switch interior lights on and off.
- For peace of mind and to minimize your financial risk, it’s a good idea to review your travel insurance needs and purchase appropriate coverage before you leave home.
